DK Unveils DK flip: A New Chapter in Children’s Fiction

DK has taken a significant leap into the world of children’s fiction with the introduction of its new imprint, DK flip. This marks a pivotal expansion for a publisher that has predominantly focused on children’s non-fiction until now.

A Diverse Range of Titles Planned

Set to publish a variety of formats, DK flip will cater to audiences ranging from chapter books to young adult fiction. The upcoming catalogue includes:

A total of 14 titles are slated for release in 2025, with an impressive 18 titles already scheduled for 2026.

Management and Editorial Support

Acquisitions for the DK flip list will be overseen by Arabella Stein, the trade strategy director, and Francesca Young, the associate publishing director. They will collaborate closely with DK’s editorial and design teams to ensure alignment with the imprint’s vision.

Additionally, the DK+ division, guided by managing director Mark Searle, is supporting this initiative with its own dedicated editors and designers focused on fiction.

According to Paul Kelly, Chief Executive of DK, the launch represents a major advance in the company’s goal to diversify its publishing repertoire. He stated, “This marks a significant step forward in our ambition to expand DK’s publishing across more genres.”
