Leadership Transition

Bronwen Price has officially been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Seren Books. She transitioned from her role as Interim CEO, a position she had held since January 2024 following her secondment from the publisher’s Board of Directors.

Achievements and Strategic Vision

Under Price’s guidance, Seren Books has laid out a comprehensive three-year business strategy aimed at enhancing its operational practices. The independent publishing house was recently honored as the Welsh Small Press of the Year at The British Book Awards, a testament to its renewed focus and direction.

“Having emerged from a tricky few years, we’re so excited about the plans we’ve put in place. We’ve got a cracking list of innovative, era-defining, important, and fun titles that will really resonate with readers both within Wales and beyond its borders,” Price stated. “We want to make an impact – combining critical and commercial success with publications which both reflect and challenge contemporary lives, values and art. We love what we do, are striving for growth, and can’t wait to create the books of Wales’ future.”

Bronwen Price’s Background

Price brings over 20 years of experience in arts management to her new role. Previously, she served as the deputy CEO at both Llenyddiaeth Cymru (Literature Wales) and National Theatre Wales, equipping her with the insights necessary to lead Seren Books effectively.

Continued Leadership

Duncan Campbell will continue to serve as the chair of the Board of Directors at Seren Books as Price undertakes her new responsibilities.

Campbell remarked, “The last 18 months have been challenging for Seren Books given the market conditions and funding challenges, but Bronwen and her team have done a fantastic job turning the business round. We can now look forward to the future, confident that Seren is in a much more secure position to deliver a revived publishing programme that builds on our rich heritage while offering something new and exciting for readers.”
